Paris, the capital, is the largest city. One of the most famous attractions is the Eiffel Tower. The tower was built for the World Exhibition 1889, held in celebration of the French Revolution of 1789.Notre Dame is another attraction along with the Arc de Triumph. Just south of Paris is Versailles Palace. The palace, paintings, furnishing and gardens are outstanding!

 Eiffel Tower is an iron tower built on the Champ de Marc beside the River Seine. It is the tallest structure in Paris and possibly the most recognized monument in the world^.. It is the most visited monument in the world; 6,428,441 people visited the tower in 2005 and more than 200,000,000 since its construction . Including the 20.75 m (70 ft) antenna, the structure is 320.75 m (1070 ft) high which is about 81 stories.
